The Necessity of PH Values in Human Body
Potential hydrogen, also known as “pH value,” is a combination of acid and alkali in water or food that humans consume. The pH value varies from person to person depending on the foods they consume. According to the Water Research Centre, the ideal pH value of water is 7, indicating that it is safe for consumption.
The pH value ranges from 0 to 14, indicating whether the liquid is acidic or alkaline. Anything below 7 is acidic, and anything above 7 is alkaline. The same amount of acid and alkali is present in water, giving it its PH value of 7. For each number, the dynamic of the liquid changes tenfold. As an example,
Milk has a pH of around 6, making it 10 times more acidic than water, which has a pH of 7.
Vinegar has a pH of 3, which means it is 40 times more acidic than water.
Can a pH imbalance in the body cause health problems?
Continue reading to learn why maintaining balanced pH levels is essential for a healthy body.
As the popular saying goes, “life is a balancing act,” and it is critical for us as humans to maintain balance in all of our endeavours, big or small; something as simple as riding a bicycle may appear impossible without the proper balance. Similarly, a human body should drink water with a balanced pH level.
We hear this term “pH” quite frequently, from its mention on broadcast TV or newspaper advertisements to its placement on billboards and even while browsing social media. But do we truly comprehend its significance and relevance to our overall well-being?
To achieve health and longevity, the pH level in human bodies should be balanced. An imbalance in pH levels may cause illness and abnormalities that have a long-term impact on the human body.
As an example,
Too much acid can cause
Obesity, weight gain, and diabetes
Arthritis, joint inflammation
Kidney stones and bladder problems
Cardiovascular problems
Immune dysfunction
Cancer and chronic illnesses
Osteoporosis
Concerns about hormones
Ageing prematurely
Free radical damage accelerates
Chronic fatigue and a lack of energy
Digestion and elimination are both slow.
Overgrowth of yeast and fungi
There are few health risks associated with the human body’s alkaline nature, but there are numerous health benefits. The image below depicts the different types of acidic and alkaline foods.
pH Level
As shown in the above image scheme, drinking too much club soda and drinking energy drinks on a regular basis can harm your body by increasing acidic levels, whereas eating foods like spinach, artichokes, and lemons can only benefit your body.
The Digestive System of Man
A healthy balance of alkaline and acid in water is 7, and anything less or more can harm your body.
The pH levels in the body can have an effect on cells, glands, organs, tissues, and much more. However, each part of the human body has a different pH number that is optimal for the body’s operation. Look at the image to see the number of pH values in each organ of the human body.
It can be difficult to select the ideal water bottle containing the optimal amount of pH value in this complex space of the bottled water industry. Water with a pH greater than 7 is considered basic and poses no health risks, whereas water with a pH of less than 7 can be harmful on a large scale.
To avoid becoming a victim, make sure you drink water that is pure, healthy, and functional in nature. Even when consumed on a regular basis, functional water provides health benefits to the human body. It contains ingredients that make it unique, such as antioxidants, pH balance, rich minerals, vitamins, and so on.
Few International Agencies, however, consider 7 to be the ideal pH level of drinking water. There have been a few who have dug deep and discovered an approximate pH range of 6-8.5. In addition, pH is present in normal saline, distilled water, bottled sparkling water, and facial makeup removing water for their own purposes.
